Michael Knapp

Michael Knapp (1954-2012) master cellist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, recording artist, and natural teacher who had the gift of inspiring his students to believe in themselves. He taught cello at the Community Music Center in San Francisco for eighteen years. He also played piano for Music Makers, a program to initiate young children in the magic of music participation. Michael’s favorite event of the year was to play and spend time at Pema Osel Ling during Vox Mundi retreat. Michael was an intelligent, positive, and generous man who could only see admirable qualities in everyone he met. His compassionate heart and humor were irrepressible and unique. He was Silvia Nakkach’s husband and life partner for 22 years.
